Solvents and reagents for preparing and handling research peptides: bacteriostatic water, acetic acid water and phosphate buffered saline. Bacteriostatic Water, sterile water with 0.9% benzyl alcohol, is the standard solvent for reconstituting lyophilised peptides in multi-use vials. Acetic Acid Water is the acidic alternative for peptides that will not dissolve at neutral pH, and Phosphate Buffered Saline holds samples at physiological pH and salt strength. Vitamin B12 (cobalamin) is supplied as a 1 ml solution.
