Epitalon (Epithalon, AEDG)
Epitalon (Epithalon, AEDG) is a synthetic tetrapeptide derived from a naturally occurring pineal gland peptide, composed of four amino acids (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly). It has been extensively studied in Russian research for its role in regulating aging processes, particularly through telomerase activation and circadian rhythm modulation. The peptide is associated with cellular longevity, improved sleep regulation via melatonin production, and systemic anti-aging effects. SS-31 (Elamipretide)
SS-31 (elamipretide) is a small aromatic-cationic tetrapeptide that localises to the inner mitochondrial membrane. Rather than scavenging reactive oxygen species diffusely as conventional antioxidants do, it binds cardiolipin — a phospholipid required for the structural integrity of the electron transport chain — and the published literature describes this targeted interaction in the context of mitochondrial function.
